Student Assistant I<\/h2>\n<p>Jobs requiring no or little advanced skills and judgment \u2013 no advanced training and\/or specialized experience required.<\/p>\n<p>e.g. manual labour; marking multiple-choice questions from a marking guide; student library assistants (supervised)<\/p>\n<p><strong>RATE: $10.25 per hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2. Student Assistant II\/Research Assistant I<\/h2>\n<p>Jobs requiring some, but limited, advanced skills and judgment \u2013 some advanced training and\/or specialized experience required.<\/p>\n<p>e.g. marking short answer\/paragraph questions against a provided marking guide; undertaking simple research; student library assistants (unsupervised); student laboratory demonstrators (supervised, junior level courses)<\/p>\n<p><strong>RATE: $10.25 &#8211; $11.25 per hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>3. Student Assistant III\/Research Assistant II<\/h2>\n<p>Jobs requiring moderate advanced skills and judgment \u2013 advanced training, demonstrated normally by an undergraduate degree and specialized experience required.<\/p>\n<p>e.g. grading examinations and papers; conducting research and consulting work; student laboratory demonstrators (unsupervised, senior level courses); tutoring students (1 or 2 students)<\/p>\n<p><strong>RATE: $11.25 &#8211; $13.25 per hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>4. Student Assistant IV\/Research Assistant III<\/h2>\n<p>Jobs requiring considerable advanced skills and judgment \u2013 extensive advanced training, demonstrated normally by a graduate degree, and specialized experience<br \/>\nrequired.<\/p>\n<p>e.g. initiating research and consulting work, tutoring students (3 or more students)<\/p>\n<p><strong>RATE: $13.25 &#8211; $16.25 per hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>5. Research Assistant IV \/Student Internship<\/h2>\n<p>Jobs requiring extensive advanced skills and judgment \u2013 extensive advanced training, demonstrated by a graduate degree and specialized experience as required Jobs providing work experience related to the student\u2019s field of study, which may be under a formal co-operative education program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RATE: $16.25 &#8211; $25.25 per hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Notes:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>These rates apply throughout the University unless another rate is specified by an external granting agency.<\/li>\n<li>The administrative head of the Unit (Dean or Director) is responsible for ensuring the consistent application of these rates.<\/li>\n<li>Preference for Student Assistants and Research Assistants will be given to Brandon University students.<\/li>\n<li>Placement within a range is dependent upon such considerations as the level of responsibility and complexity of the job, and the relevant training and experience of the individual.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong> Approved by PAC on September 21, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Effective October 1, 2012 1.
