{"id":170,"date":"2014-06-10T10:52:16","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T15:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/its\/?page_id=170"},"modified":"2019-07-24T14:26:17","modified_gmt":"2019-07-24T19:26:17","slug":"mac-os","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/its\/eduroam\/mac-os\/","title":{"rendered":"Mac OS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These are the instructions for configuring an eduroam wireless connection while visiting another institution and while working on a Mac OSX 10.5 or newer.<\/p>\n<p>Before starting please ensure the institution you are visiting is an eduroam <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canarie.ca\/identity\/institutions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">participating institution.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>To Connect:<\/h3>\n<p>First just try to connect to it like any other wifi network and enter your BU email address as password. If that doesn&#8217;t work try the steps below.<\/p>\n<h3>To Configure manually:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open System Preferences from the Dock or the Apple Menu<\/li>\n<li>Click on the Network Preference Pane<\/li>\n<li>Select the Airport connection on the left panel. Under Network name, use the pull down menu to select &#8220;eduroam&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the form using your Brandon University e-mail address as the user-name and then enter your password<\/li>\n<li>Since the security certificate has not been seen by this machine before, it will ask you to verify it and trust it on the first login.<\/li>\n<li>Once you make the changes to trust this certificate, you will be asked to save this to your local computer&#8217;s &#8220;keychain&#8221;.
