Duties and Responsibilities:

The Administrative and Purchasing Clerk plays an integral role in the overall operation of Food Services. Duties include working under the guidance of the Food Service Manager, respond and provide suggestions and ideas regarding events on and off campus; prepare function sheets for the kitchen and reconcile invoices for month-end; receive and verify products against orders and delivery invoices; purchase products ensuring correct quantities, quality, timing for production; prepare cash floats, bank deposits, timesheets, tracking reports; code invoices in database; monitor price and inventory; provide oversight of all storing facilities to ensure environments are clean and safe; attend daily production meetings, and other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Grade 12 plus an Office Administration certificate and 3 years’ directly related experience or a combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate requires a demonstrated ability to work with numerous interruptions and to work collaboratively with internal and external customers; is a proven team player; is highly motivated; works well with little direct supervision; possesses strong organizational skills; is a multi-tasker; self-starter; and provides excellent customer service. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and knowledge of bookkeeping is required.  The successful candidate must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be physically able to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
