Accountant, Financial and Registration Services

Brandon University has an exciting full-time opportunity for an accountant to join the Financial and Registration Services team. Reporting to the Director, Financial and Registration Services, this position plays an important role in providing accounting functions for the University.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Budget development;
• Support and monitor the University-wide budget;
• Assist with or prepare annual financial statements;
• Maintain University insurance and risk management portfolios, including reporting property, liability and accident claims; and
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess a University degree with three (3) years’ related experience in various accounting functions or a comparable combination of education and experience. While a professional accounting designation is preferred; will consider a candidate nearing the end of an accounting program who has the required experience. To be the successful candidate, proficiency in MS Excel, excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving skills are required. Experience in public sector accounting is considered an asset.

NOTE: The successful candidate will be expected to be available to work on campus, and will be required to provide proof of vaccination in accordance with Brandon University’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

Classification: MPO-IV (Managers & Professional Officers)
Salary: $70,388 – $89,063
