Probation/Trial Period: Minimum of 6 months to a 12 month maximum
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Start Date: March 25, 2019 or upon availability
This position provides support to the Dean, faculty members and staff and assists current and potential students with registration related issues and general inquiries. The Administrative Assistant prepares and records agendas, minutes and correspondence for Music Faculty Council, faculty committees and conservatory meetings. This position is responsible for the supervision and the assigning of duties to office staff and student assistants; coordinates regular academic activities for the School of Music including visiting artists and scholar events. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum Grade 12 plus a 2 – 3 year diploma in Office Management or Business Administration and five years of related experience or a comparable combination of education and experience are required.
The successful candidate must be skilled in office procedures and workflow, and have facility with other office technology and software including Microsoft Office. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Outstanding time management skills and being able to effectively resolve competing priorities is required; must have the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in a music or fine arts environment is an asset.
