Duties:
Students would be responsible for assisting in stack maintenance by shelving library materials, shelf-reading and straightening the library collection. They would also cover the circulation desk and perform circulation duties such as loans, returns, renewals, holds, monitor collection security, patron registration, handling money and pay fines, basic machine operation and maintenance, and basic patron assistance (ex. directional questions, catalog searches, databases, answer telephone). Students are also responsible for performing the library closing procedures each evening and performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:
Candidates have a strong customer service focus, excellent listening skills and effective communication skills. They must also be detail oriented in their reading skills and numerical abilities. They must be physically able to lift library materials, bend to shelve, maneuver large heavy book carts and stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must also have a working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
