  • Maintain contact with supervising professor weekly.
  • Grade a variety of assignments, including analyses, counterpoint, figured basses, harmonizations and short compositions
  • Grade the final exam.
  • Report on frequent problems encountered in assignments, including any possible instances of academic dishonesty.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • School of Music graduate student preferred.
  • Knowledge of Common Practice harmony essential.
  • Previous experience with course textbook preferred.
  • Ideally have strong music theory background at the undergraduate level.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working independently and making independent judgements.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective time management with ability to meet deadlines.
