One-Year Term Position, Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science

Applications are invited for a one-year term position in the area of biochemistry in the Department of Chemistry, effective August 1, 2020, or as mutually agreed. The Department offers B.Sc., Honours, and Co-op degree programs with Majors and Minors in Chemistry. Applicants should consult the Brandon University course calendar for more information on program offerings.


Teaching responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be able to teach Introductory Biochemistry and Intermediary Metabolism lectures and labs (18:363 and 18:373 in the BU Undergraduate Course Calendar) as well as the fall term of General Chemistry I (18:160 in the BU Undergraduate Course Calendar). The ability to teach upper year biochemistry elective courses would be an asset. Depending on the candidate’s field of expertise, some alterations may be possible in potential course assignments.

Research & Service responsibilities: The successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for internal research funding, to supervise undergraduate Honours projects in Chemistry, and to participate on faculty committees.


Rank & Salary: Commensurate with qualification & experience

Qualifications: PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Molecular Biology required. Experience in undergraduate teaching would be an asset.
