One-Year Term Position, Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, Faculty of Science

Applications are invited for a one-year term position in the area of Computer Science in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, effective August 1, 2020, or as mutually agreed.

The Department offers B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Honours) degree programs with Majors and Minors in both Computer Science and Mathematics.  Applicants should consult the Brandon University course calendar for more information on program offerings.


Teaching responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be able to teach junior and senior courses in Computer Science. Ability to teach Operating Systems, Digital Computer Fundamentals, Databases, and Computer Architecture (or some combination of these with other courses) would be an asset. Depending on the candidate’s field of expertise, some alterations may be possible in potential course assignments.

Research & Service responsibilities:  The successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for internal research funding, to supervise undergraduate honours projects in Computer Science, and to participate on faculty committees.

Rank:  Lecturer or Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Qualifications:  A minimum of a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science. Experience in undergraduate teaching would be an asset.
