Duties:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Lab Manager for various projects related to organismal biology and plant pathology. Research responsibilities include providing expertise and high-level technical skills in molecular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, RNA/DNA isolation, etc.) and other relevant duties as assigned. Lab management responsibilities include purchasing of consumables, organization, monthly budgetary reporting, maintenance and calibration of equipment, and other relevant duties as assigned.  The Research Assistant will train laboratory staff in standard operating procedures and equipment specific requirements. The successful applicant will work closely with the principal investigators of two multidisciplinary labs.

Qualifications/Experience:

M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or other science-related field. Demonstrated abilities in standard molecular biology and plant pathology techniques are required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are essential. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the operation of standard lab equipment and with lab safety and biosafety procedures.
