Rural Development Institute – Rural Engagement Student Assistant

Classification: Research Assistant III or IV (based on the level of experience and qualifications)

Job Title: Rural Engagement Student Assistant

Wage: RA III – $15.48 per hour; RA IV – $21.75 per hour

Start Date: October 1, 2018

Date Issued: September 7, 2018

Hours of Work: average of 20 hours per week

Number of positions available: 1

Duties:

  • Utilize and update communication tools including but not limited to the website, e-news updates and i-Contact database
  • Support RPLC’s activities related to communication analytics
  • Support new knowledge mobilization and translation tools that may be shared with others, including RDI
  • Support capacity building initiatives for partners and participants to transfer knowledge mobilization and translation practices
  • and other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Highly organized, self-starter, takes initiative, and problem solver
  • Experience with balancing priorities across multi-tasks while achieving timelines
  • Skills and experience in using social media platforms; experience in using the analytics on those platforms would be an asset
  • Skills and experience in updating websites
  • Knowledge and expertise in policy and rural research-related issues in one or more of the geographical regions of the RPLC partners would be an asset (Canada, USA, Europe, other International)
  • Effective communications, written and verbal, to various audiences
  • At least one year of work experience, preferably within a research project and/or university context
