Wage: $32.94 per hour

Probation/Trial Period: Minimum 6 months to a maximum of 12 months

Duties:

Reporting to the Coordinator of Administrative Systems, the Senior Programmer Analyst provides leadership in the design, development, and implementation of integrations for administrative systems; performs preliminary analysis on user requests to develop project recommendations; maintains existing computer applications and software development environments; performs database administrations functions including: maintaining security, optimizing database performance, as well as repair and recovery procedures; learns and applies new technologies; supports and trains staff (including procedure creation). The incumbent will maintain existing applications and provide support to uses in the form of both technical support and training. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

B.Sc. degree in Computer Science plus three (3) years related experience, or comparable combination of education and experience. Strong communication, organizations, and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in managing projects, planning, using software as a service, and systems development within third- and fourth-generation languages is required. The incumbent will have the experience in applying best practices within complex development environments. This position requires the knowledge of many programming languages including C#, Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Oracle Application Express is an asset, but not a requirement. Must have strong database theory and relational calculus skills. A strong understanding of networks, experience in mobile computing and communications is an asset.
