Six-Month Term Position, Student Advisor (Brandon), Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Faculty of Health Studies

Applications are invited for a six-month term (with the possibility of extension), 0.5 EFT Student Advisor position in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing at the Brandon campus. We seek individuals with a commitment to excellence in psychiatric nursing education. Responsibilities include: student advising and assisting students with academic and personal concerns; serving as an advocate for students; planning  and conducting orientation sessions for pre-psychiatric and for students entering Year 2 of the BScPN program in Brandon; reviewing applications for admission; maintaining student records; participating in student recruitment activities; and performing public relation duties for the Department of Psychiatric Nursing.


  • Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the CRNM or the CRPNM required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing or related discipline is required;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required; and
  • The ideal applicant will have a minimum of two years’ experience in academic advising at a post-secondary level.
