Brandon University is seeking a Personal Academic Attendant to provide the following tasks beginning in September 2019:

  • Attend classes with assigned student;
  • Take notes for assigned student;
  • Organize and attend regularly scheduled work period with assigned student;
  • Work with assigned student on academic-related tasks including acting as a scribe in completion of assignments, essays, tests, and exams;
  • Liaise with SAS, the student, and their family; and
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Excellent listening skills and demonstrated ability to identify essential components of orally presented information;
  • Strong note taking skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and academic vocabulary;
  • Knowledge of MS Office, computers and other peripheral equipment (copier, printer);
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours that correspond to the students’ schedule;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Punctual;
  • Two years of coursework at the post-secondary level;
  • Experience with the subject matter is an asset;
  • Previous experience working with individuals with a disability is an asset.
