Job Summary: To provide care to animals in the lab with minimal supervision; working hours may include day, evening or weekend shifts, as needed
Primary duties:
  • Perform daily checks on the animals, including weekends and holidays
  • Feed and water the animals
  • Maintain a tidy and clean work area
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skillset:

  • Limited advanced skills and judgment
  • Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively
  • Ability to work courteously with the public and to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Detail-oriented, punctual and reliable
Education:

  • Preference given to current Brandon University students; second year undergraduate level/standing is required
  • Strong academic standing

Experience:

  • Some advanced training and/or specialized experience is required
  • Prior knowledge of animal care ethics and animal husbandry is required
