Duties:

  • Develop and execute transition to academic and campus life programs and events for Orientation day and welcome week, in conjunction with various campus and community partners
  • Maintain presence on BU Student Life social media
  • Develop the necessary communication materials for new students and parents
  • Provide campus tours throughout the summer
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Enrolled at Brandon University with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher at time of application
  • Skills with event planning and promotion, volunteer coordination, and marketing
  • Outstanding leadership, organization skills, and critical and creative thinking skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work flexible days during Orientation and welcome week(s)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as a team
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources
  • Respect for and enthusiasm about serving a diverse population
  • Ability to monitor and update social media presence
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets)
  • Returning to studies at Brandon University in September 2020
