Duties: 

  • Develop and execute transition to academic and campus life programs and events for Orientation Day and Welcome Week, in conjunction with various campus and community partners
  • Maintain presence on BU Student Life social media
  • Develop the necessary communication materials for new students and parents
  • Provide campus tours throughout the summer; and other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Enrolled at BU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher at time of application
  • Skills with event planning and promotion, volunteer coordination, and marketing
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work flexible days during Orientation and Welcome Week(s)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources
  • Respect for and enthusiasm about serving a diverse population
  • Ability to monitor and update social medial presence
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets) and experience with desktop publishing and mail merge an asset
