Student Assistant III, Community Outreach Coordinator


This position’s main duties include coordinate Brandon University’s Student Service Learning program and coordinate and moderate webinars (online), and complete other duties as assigned by the Director.

  1. Coordinator of Student Service Learning
  2. Promote and increase awareness of SSL to faculty, students and off campus organizations, including the ‘virtual volunteer; Receive and process Student Service Learning (SSL) Applications with the SSL committee; Receive and process completed forms; Respond in a timely manner to inquiries about the program and process
  3. Coordinate and moderate webinars
  4. Qualifications/Experience:
  5. You will also help with other tasks at the request of the Director of the RDI, and provide regular work plan updates.
  6. Generate topics and prepare a series of webinars (eg., fall, winter, and summer); Recruit speakers through existing networks and related searches.; Follow planning check-list to organize at least three webinars a month; Assist in registration inquiries from interested parties; Moderate each webinar; Edit and upload video and PowerPoint presentations to websites; Provide support to RDI and projects like the RPLC Secretariat
  • Currently enrolled as full time student at Brandon University – preferring a master’s student
  • Minimum 3.0 (B) GPA
  • Familiar with research and related processes, preferably with a public policy emphasis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially within an academic context
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with multiple tasks
  • Skills with Microsoft programs (publisher, word, excel)
  • Skills with, I-contact, and Movie Maker are considered an asset
  • Respect for and enthusiasm about rural policy
