Student Success Officer (4 Month Term), Student Services

Brandon University seeks an energetic and dynamic professional to serve as a full-time Student Success Officer.  Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Retention, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the recruitment and advising of all first year students with intentional focus on First Nations, Métis and Inuit students.  Duties include, but are not limited to, the development and delivery of the University’s recruitment campaign, providing direct support for the university’s first-year transition and retention initiatives, and the supervision of student assistants.


Ideal Applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree with Masters prepared candidates preferred. Demonstrated success as an undergraduate student and experience in student recruitment and advising in a post-secondary environment are preferred.  Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and experience working with Aboriginal learners and Educational Councils are assets.  Preference will be given to candidates of First Nations, Métis or Inuit origin.  Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are also required. This position requires extensive travelling.  The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license
