Welcome from the School of Music

For 40 years the Brandon Jazz Festival occupied a special place in the School of Music calendar. For faculty and students alike the festival represented an important opportunity to listen, perform, and build lasting connections with colleagues and mentors. We know that this experience was not unique to us, and that the festival meant these same things to music educators and their students from all across Canada.

The School of Music is therefore honoured and excited to be taking over the festival, re-launching it as the Brandon University Jazz Festival after several years away. We look forward to bringing you the same top-notch performances and workshops you’ve come to expect, while creating more opportunities for our students and faculty to interact with festival-goers.

We cannot wait to welcome you back to our campus as we enter this new era for the festival. Here’s to the next 40 years of this festival serving jazz and music education in our region!
