Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival – 13 years
CELEBRATING 13 YEARS OF CHAMBER MUSIC
The fourth week of July marks the thirteen season of the Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival directed by pianists Alexander Tselyakov and Daniel Tselyakov. This year’s Festival is comprised of five concerts: four chamber concerts and jazz concert. Performances run from Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29 and feature a wide variety of musical styles and artists.
The Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival continues to be an important part of Canada’s cultural calendar delighting people of all ages with a powerful musical experience. This year’s ambitious schedule is sure to please and promises to inspire new lovers of classical music as well as satisfy the appetites of seasoned enthusiasts. The large scale roster of talented guest artists includes: Alexander Tselyakov, Piano; Greg Gatien, Saxophone; Daniel Tselyakov, Piano; Cathy Wood, Clarinet; Chelsea Chimilar, Mezzo- Soprano; Joyce Lai, Violin; Katie Gannon, Violin; Ian Clarke, Viola; Andras Weber, Cello; Graydon Cramer, Percussion and Jordan Panko, Jazz Bass.
The wide variety in programming will make for an engaging program, and the exceptional musical talent guarantees an exciting and pleasurable experience for all.

THURSDAY, JULY 26, 7:30 pm OPENING NIGHT

We are thrilled to open the Festival with two titans of the Classical and Romantic periods: Mozart’s Piano Concerto with soloist Daniel Tselyakov and the Brahms’ Piano Quartet with Alexander Tselyakov. After the concert mingle with all festival artists at a complimentary wine & cheese reception sponsored by BU. It will be a night to remember!
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 7:30 pm CHAMBER MASTERWORKS

Another evening of superb program selections: a seldomly performed, highly romantic and lyrical masterwork by Max Bruch; a contrasting, contemporary and delightful clarinet sonata by Poulenc; and a youthful, vivacious, virtuosic piano quintet by Dohnanyi. These works will be performed by Alexander Tselyakov, Piano; Cathy Wood, Clarinet; Joyce Lai & Katie Gannon, Violins; Ian Clarke, Viola; and András Weber, Cello.

Come out for a wonderful, inspirational evening of jazz! The two Saturday events provide audiences with the unique opportunity to enjoy performances in both the morning and evening.

The Festival’s Grand Finale will impress with the excellent and exciting Trio by Menotti and Mozart’s brilliant Piano Quartet No. 2, which skillfully juxtaposes concert-like writing for piano with more integrated chamber texture.
