2013 Tentative BU Festival Schedule<\/a><\/p>\n

The Brandon University Clarinet Festival<\/strong><\/span> is an exciting annual event that brings together professional musicians, music educators, clarinet enthusiasts, and students of all levels. Join us on March 22-23 for the third annual BU Clarinet Festival <\/b>featuring acclaimed soloist and recording artist Caroline Hartig<\/a>. This year\u2019s festival also welcomes internationally celebrated guest artists\u00a0Elizabeth Rheude<\/a>(ND),\u00a0Tori Okwabi<\/a> (MN),\u00a0Pauline Minevich<\/a> (SK), and Brandon\u2019s own Catherine Wood<\/a><\/strong><\/b>.<\/p>\n

The festival events include numerous workshops (including yoga for musicians), masterclasses, performances, and a mass Clarinet Choir for all participants. The BU Clarinet Choir will perform a new commission by Winnipeg\u2019s own Jeff Presslaff. The festival will feature new music by Brandon University\u2019s Ali Montazeri and Chris Byman. Evening concerts include a Brandon Chamber Players concert of woodwind quintets<\/b> and the world-premiere of a piece by Manitoban composer Sid Robinovitch. This piece is the first in 250 years to feature the D clarinet. The final evening Pro Series recital will feature guest artist Caroline Hartig.<\/p>\n

Double occupancy is $30\/night\/person plus applicable taxes<\/p>\n

Single occupancy is $40\/night plus applicable taxes<\/p>\n

If students arrive after hours, please call RA on duty at 204-724-2263. That person will meet students at office, at the base of McMaster Hall, and get everyone set up with their keys, fob and pass.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
