Health Studies Programs Receive Approval

This summer the School of Health Studies at Brandon University received approval for both its nursing programs.

The College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba granted approval for the Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing program until the spring of 2013. The Board of Directors congratulated the program for its significant work during the last few years and appreciated that the progress was due to the hard work of a relatively small but very dedicated faculty. They also thanked Brandon University for its ongoing commitment to excellence in Psychiatric Nursing Education.

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba granted approval for the Bachelor of Nursing program until Summer 2012. The Board of Directors stated that the Brandon University Department of Nursing was clearly poised for the future and recommended full approval of the program.

Dr. Dean Care, Dean, School of Health Studies shared the wonderful news with members of the School by stating ‘This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to the quality of our program and the excellence demonstrated by our faculty and staff. Congratulations everyone!’
