Christmas Bird Count

Count Birds for Science!

Join us on December 22nd for this grand birding tradition.  Volunteers will take part in a pre-count orientation session, and then will join Park Biologists, Interpreters and Birders for the day/half day (or as long as you like!) to count and identify birds along specific routes. Pre-register by Dec 18.  Call 848-7226 to register and for information.

Volunteers have been counting birds for the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) for over 100 years, and their contributions represent a tremendously valuable resource for learning more about bird behaviour and bird conservation.

These output tools are designed to give access to the data collected by the tens of thousands of CBC volunteers. A lot has happened to early winter bird populations and distributions in the last 100 plus years, and the Christmas Bird Count is an invaluable resource to discover those changes.

Thanks for your time,
