Remediation Conference

Manitoba Environmental Industries Association (MEIA) will host the second annual Remediation and Prevention Conference at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg, MB on February 25, 2010. This conference will offer insight into todayʼs issues surrounding remediation, arming attendeeʼs with new problem solving perspectives as provided by peer case studies and examples. Industry experts will present and discuss ideas and trends related to remediation and prevention including, remediation of nutrient and pesticide impacts, phytoremediation, soil vapour intrusion mitigation systems, mine site assessments, remediation of TCE, incorporating sustainability into the cost of remediation, agronomic perspective on reclamation, methods for producing reliable and reproducible data, and a local Winnipeg case study on the regarding the remediation of a site impacted with Dense Nonaqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL). Additionally, the Honorable Bill Blaikie, Manitoba Provincial Minister of Conservation will provide opening remarks at the conference. For those involved directly with remediation as a consultant or as part of industry, government or academia, this conference is a must-attend.
