Faculty Concert Presents In-house Talent

This article is over 13 years old.

BRANDON, MB – One of the highlights and an annual treat of the pro series is the Faculty Concert. The 2011 edition of this aural feast showcases some of the School of Music’s talented instructors and professors performing music of varying genres, from different periods, as soloists as well as in small chamber groups.

“This concert promises to be an exciting showcase of our faculty’s talent and expertise,” said Dr. Michael Kim, the Dean of the School of Music. “The evening is structured in the sort of variety-show format that was a more conventional feature of concert life in the earlier half of the 19th century.”

The pro series performance featuring faculty members of the School of Music will be held at 8 p.m., on January 11, 2011, in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall, in the School of Music at Brandon University.

Tickets to all pro series concerts are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, alumni and students, and $8 for Conservatory students. Tickets can be bought at the door or in advance at the School of Music. Seating is limited and programmes are subject to change.

The pro series and the School of Music gratefully acknowledge the generous support of The Canada Council for the Arts, the Manitoba Arts Council and of the Province of Manitoba, through a Consolidated Arts Programming Grant from Culture, Heritage and Tourism.
