BRANDON, MB — Recently, Dr. Deborah Poff, Brandon University’s President and Vice-Chancellor and Scott Lamont, BU’s Vice President, Administration and Finance, had the pleasure of accepting a donation from the T.J. Rice Family Foundation and Renaissance Station (TJRFF/RS). At a private ceremony at Renaissance Station, the development’s manager Tyler Rice was on hand to present the gift from TJRFF/RS.

“The T.J. Rice Family Foundation/Renaissance Station would like to congratulate the Brandon University Foundation and the Healthy Living Centre (campaign) in their efforts to make a difference in our great community’s quality of living,” said Rice. “The T.J. Rice Family Foundation/Renaissance Station is pleased to donate (these funds) and encourage others to do likewise through financial or volunteering support.”

On this occasion, the Brandon University Foundation received a cheque in the amount of $5,000. According to a spokesperson for the TJRFF/RS, the company maintains that this gesture can make a difference as an investment into the future of our community, helping the Brandon University Foundation in its quest to build the Healthy Living Centre.

“The University is very pleased to receive this donation from the Rice Foundation. It is part of an ongoing relationship with and an ongoing commitment from the Rice Foundation to Brandon University,” said Dr. Poff. “This donation will go toward meeting the fundraising target for the Healthy Living Centre.”
