BRANDON, MB – One week after announcing the first recruit for next season, Bobcats men‟s volleyball head coach Russ Paddock is pleased to announce another.

David Stasica of Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg has signed a letter of intent to play for the Bobcats in 2011-2012.

“When I visited Brandon I immediately sensed that „home-feeling‟, which is very important to me,” says Stasica. “I‟m excited to join this great program and to compete at the CIS level.”

Stasica‟s career stats and accomplishments thus far are impressive. He was a member of Team Manitoba that won gold at the 2010 Western Elite Championship. He won AAAA Provincial gold and silver medals the past two seasons as a member of the MBCI Hawks, for which he was also named a tournament all-star this past season. He is also a member of the 204 Volleyball Club.

“We‟re thrilled to have David join our team,” says Paddock. “Having a recruit from Winnipeg is a big stepping-stone for our program.”

The Bobcats graduate five players from this year‟s CIS silver-medal winning team.
