Changes to Education Building Access

This article is over 13 years old.

Attention: All Education Students — Effective April 14, 2011

In the past, the education building was open during the school year until 10:30 p.m., allowing students, faculty and staff to enter and leave the building as they have wished.

In order to make the building more secure and safe for those who are supposed to be in it, there has been a change to the method of accessing the building. From Monday to Friday, the building will be locked as of 6 p.m. However, it will be possible to enter the building after that time, but you will need to have your student card. Therefore, the building will be accessible from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with your student card only. Weekend access will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. only.

You will now be required to have your student card to swipe at either the East or West door. This will allow us to provide you with a safer place to work in by ensuring that only those who are supposed to be entering the building actually are.

Effective immediately, if you plan to come into the Education building after 6 p.m., you will need to have your student card. You can get it through Ancillary Services. You already pay for your student card with your student fees each year. This is not an additional expense to you. (Keep in mind, if you lose your Student Card, there is a replacement fee for another card.)

This new policy has been implemented in an effort to keep the building safe and secure, and your cooperation and understanding are appreciated.
