New Associate Vice-President (External) Announced

Brandon, MB — On April 16, 2011 the Board of Governors at Brandon University approved the appointment of Ms Vicki Klassen as the Associate Vice-President (External). Ms Klassen will begin in her new role on May 2, 2011.

“I am pleased to announce that Ms Vicki Klassen is joining Brandon University as our new Associate Vice-President (External). Vicki brings a rich background of success to the position. I very much look forward to working with her on our upcoming capital campaign,” said Deborah Poff, President of Brandon University.

Ms Klassen comes to Brandon University from the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, Inc., where she has served as Executive Director as well as Campaign Director. An accomplished fund-raising leader, Ms Klassen utilizes creativity, drive and perseverance to guide her in achieving the strategic goals of the organization she represents.

Ms Klassen has received personal and professional recognition for her work, including from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. As well, she has served as a board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and was a member of the AFP National Philanthropy Day Committee, the AFP Ethics Committee, the CAGP Kaizen 2007 Logistics Committee and the Canadian Public Relations Society.

“As a fund development leader, I recognize the link between exceptional facilities, visionary leaders, talented educators, and outstanding education. Throw into the mix my admiration for the City of Brandon and its ability to remain friendly while competing at the national level, and I can’t help but be eager to make Brandon my home,” said Ms Klassen. “I am thrilled to be joining the Brandon University administration team and look forward to collaborating with the Institutional Advancement staff. Together, we will work to ensure a bright future for the University community.”
