BRANDON, MB – The BU men’s volleyball team is set to host the annual Super 8 Tournament this Saturday and Sunday in the BU Gymnasium. The Bobcats will host the Regina Cougars, Winnipeg Wesmen and Waterloo Warriors in pre-season action.
The first match of the tournament will see provincial rivals Brandon and Winnipeg battle on Saturday at 12:00 pm. The tournament will be a round-robin format followed by third place and first place matches on Sunday.
The complete tournament schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 1
12:00 p.m. Brandon vs. Winnipeg
1:30 p.m. Regina vs. Waterloo
6:00 p.m. Regina vs. Winnipeg
7:30 p.m. Brandon vs. Waterloo
Sunday, October 2
10:30 a.m. Waterloo vs. Winnipeg
12:00 p.m. Brandon vs. Regina
4:30 p.m. 3rd vs. 4th
6:00 p.m. 1st vs. 2nd
Tournament passes can be purchased from the BU Athletics office for $10. Individual matches cost $5 to enter. All current Brandon University students get free admission with valid student ID.
The Bobcats will look to defend their title after winning last year’s Super 8 Tournament, beating Regina in the final.
