Established in 1983, the Sarah Harriet Hall Memorial Academic Scholarships are provided annually to entering students who “have demonstrated academic excellence in high school as well as proficiency in extra-curricular activities.” Ms Hall was a graduate of Brandon College in 1921, and left a sizeable bequest to Brandon University to provide scholarships to deserving students.

One student from each of Arts, Science, Music, and Health Studies (in the degrees outlined in the Online Scholarship Database) receives $1,000 for their first year, and could also qualify for renewal of this award for an additional three years provided that they maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, continue in the same faculty, and continue to register for 30 credit hours per year. This award provides invaluable assistance for students to focus on their studies and excel in their chosen field.

*Please note that, as with many other Brandon University Scholarships and Bursaries, students are required to read the terms of reference for any awards they may qualify for, and ensure that they meet the criteria for the award throughout the academic year to retain the funds.

Should you have any questions about this or any other scholarships or bursaries at Brandon University, please do not hesitate to contact Chris Szabo, Scholarships and Awards Clerk, at (204) 727-9737, or e-mail scholarships@brandonu.ca.
