BRANDON, Man. – Brandon University (BU) is honoured to partner with Westman Immigrant Services and the Brandon Islamic Centre to host Walking Forward with Muslims, on Friday, March 24, 2017.
The event will provide an introduction and exploration of Islamic culture and Muslims in Brandon, featuring a panel discussion regarding current challenges, film presentation by Brandon filmmaker Meghan Cronkrite and traditional foods, tea and music.

The Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art and The Brandon University (BU) Fine Arts Student Association are pleased to host Nostalgica, a thesis exhibition by international fine arts student Lori Ore.
Nostalgica is about Ore’s personal experience with homesickness since she’s moved to Brandon from Miami, Fla.
Ore explores the nature of nostalgia through portraiture, installation and video art. Her painterly portraits reflect her family and friends from her hometown. Through video art Ore uses a synchronization of video and sound to reveal the daydreaming of the environment she longs for on a daily basis.

BRANDON, Man. – A tuba player from Germany, a homegrown volleyball star, and a woman who has been an instructor in both astronomy and judo are just a few of the outstanding female students at Brandon University (BU) who will be honoured next week.
The celebration will help mark International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8. Members of the BU faculty and staff have nominated 24 students who are being recognized for their accomplishments in their studies and in their communities.

Brandon University Visual Arts Assistant Professor Lisa Wood has a unique perspective on university cafeterias, and she’d like to share it with you.
Her exhibit, Cafeteria II, is on display at the University of Winnipeg from now until April 8, in Gallery 1C03.
It’s a joint exhibition with fellow artist Elvira Finnigan, exploring the dynamics of eating together and question how the experience of sharing a meal might be recorded and remembered.
