Cheer up! Basket raffle and 50/50 help drive increase in annual Christmas Cheer donation

This article is over 6 years old.

Brandon University staff and faculty helped raise more than $3,600 for the Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer at this year’s Holiday Luncheon.

The money comes from a 50/50 draw as well as a basket raffle for which university departments put together enticing gift baskets that are on display leading up to the luncheon. Non-perishable food was also collected for the BUSU Food Bank.

This year’s theme was “A Season of Giving” and the total amount raised was $3,656, an increase of several hundred dollars over last year.

This year’s Holiday Luncheon was organized by staff in the Faculty of Education and the School of Music.
