Brandon University is taking steps to preserve the heritage of the former Strand Theatre in downtown Brandon, with the doomed building set to come down by the end of March.
“The iconic Strand sign is in great shape and I am eager to see how our plans for downtown will reinterpret it in an entirely new context,” said Brandon University Interim President Steve Robinson.

BRANDON – After an absence of two years, the internationally acclaimed Lu Piano Duo returns to the Pro Series on Tuesday in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at Brandon University (BU).
Currently on faculty at the University of Utah’s School of Music, the husband-and-wife team of Jie-deng Lu and Ning Lu will present an all-Mozart programme.

The Portage & District Arts Centre will be displaying “Narratives,” an exhibition by Brandon University Printmaking II students, from February 21 to March 10, 2018. The opening reception is on Saturday, February 24, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Portage & District Arts Centre (PDAC) at 11-2nd Street NE (west doors of the William Glesby Building).

BRANDON – Award-winning soprano Sarah Kirsch will return to the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at Brandon University (BU) as the Pro Series continues on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

A busy Winnipeg-based teacher and performer, Kirsch won the 2014 Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition and undertook an extensive cross-Canada tour following the event.
