Concerto Competition winners featured in final BU Orchestra performance of school year

Winners of the annual School of Music Concerto Competition will be featured as the Brandon University (BU) Orchestra performs its final concert of the academic year on Saturday evening.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m., at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, at the corner of 13th Street and Louis Ave. in Brandon.

    Soprano Katherine Trussler (4th year undergraduate) will be perform as a soloist in a work by the British composer Finzi. Cellist Charlee Wielgoz (3rd year undergraduate) will be featured in a cello concerto by Russian composer Dmitri Kabalevsky.

    Excerpts from Dr. T. Patrick Carrabré’s Creation Stories will also be performed.

    The entire BU community is invited to hear this grand finale by the BU Orchestra. A reception will follow the concert.

    General admission is $12, while students can take in the concert for $8.
