Student researchers at Brandon University are putting together a labour history exhibition to mark the centennial of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike and Brandon Sympathy Strike and they are casting a wide net to find new photos and other visual materials.
The exhibit will be displayed in the Brandon General Museum and showcased in Winnipeg for the 1919/2019 conference this May as well as making appearances in other venues in the city.
A pair of film screenings will highlight Sexual Assault Awareness Month at Brandon University (BU).
On Wednesday, March 6, a screening of “The Bystander Moment: Transforming Rape Culture at its Roots” will be held at the Evans Theatre at 7 p.m.

BRANDON – In partnership with Brandon University (BU) researchers, the Brandon Friendship Centre (BFC) and Brandon Urban Aboriginal People’s Council (BUAPC) are hosting a new series of wellness workshops for Indigenous men.
The workshops will take place at the Cultural Resource Centre (A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex, 638 Princess Avenue) every Thursday from March 7th to March 28th at 6 p.m.
BRANDON – Polaris Music Prize winner Jeremy Dutcher will visit Brandon University (BU) to conclude the 2018-19 pro series season on Tuesday, March 5.

The Toronto-based musician will also take part in a workshop on Monday, March 4, presented by the Institute for Research in Music and Community at BU.
A former artist in residence at the National Music Centre (NMC), Dutcher was awarded the 2018 Polaris Music Prize, recognizing outstanding Canadian recordings, for his album “Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.” Dutcher will follow his current tour of Western Canada by performing in Europe in April.
