A long awaited furniture renewal in McMaster Hall will benefit more than the students who move into the Brandon University (BU) residence.
The old furniture that made generations of BU students feel at home will continue to be put to good use, helping hundreds of community members.

Putting aside the in-person pomp and circumstance for a time, Brandon University celebrated the Class of 2020 in physically distanced fashion this year.
“Today would have been the first of our three Convocation ceremonies, and a moment of celebration for every student as they walked across the stage, shook hands, hugged, high-fived and beamed while posing for a photo with their degree, surrounded by family and friends,” said BU President David Docherty.
A former Dean of Health Studies is temporarily stepping back into the role.
Linda Ross has assumed the position of Acting Dean of Health Studies, stepping in for John Moraros, who has taken a personal leave with the support of the university.
BRANDON – Ongoing shortages in N95 masks have motivated a Brandon University (BU) laboratory to partner with Brandon Clinic to develop a respirator that could be used to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Although cloth masks are recommended to control the spread of amongst the general population, these masks do not provide sufficient protection for medical staff where the risks of transmission of COVID-19 are the highest. These workers need to be shielded from the virus and require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of a much higher standard.
BRANDON – Brandon University (BU) School of Music professor Dr. Andrée Dagenais has been recognized with a National Choral Award.
Dr. Dagenais’ critical edition of Pierre Robert, Motets pour la Chapelle du roy, vol. 1, was chosen as the Outstanding Choral Publication by Choral Canada, which presents its national awards every two years.
Brandon University has made the difficult decision to not offer its popular youth summer camps this year, due to the ongoing pandemic. This includes Mini University, as well as Athletics camps and music camps.

McKenzie, an Assistant Professor in Brandon University’s Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art, was interviewed for a feature in the Gallery’s online magazine, discussing his inspiration, his methods and how joining BU has led him to explore traditional Indigenous techniques.
