Familiar faces will continue to lead the School of Music and Faculty of Health Studies at Brandon University.
Greg Gatien has been renewed as Dean of Music for a second five-year term. And Dr. Linda Ross, Acting Dean of Health Studies, has had her term extended while the university prepares to initiate its search for a permanent Dean, a process expected to take up to two years.
“It has been an incredibly busy and successful time in the School of Music, and while there have been challenges, it is thrilling to work alongside such accomplished and dedicated people,” Gatien said. “Our faculty, including some incredible additions that we look forward to introducing to our community, is truly world-class and our students continue to be a great source of inspiration. It has been a privilege to serve in this role over the past five years, and I feel excited, humbled, and grateful to be continuing into a second term.”
“When I finished my second term as Dean and returned to the Department of Psychology in 2008, I certainly did not expect to find myself back here some 12 years later. Nevertheless, it has been wonderful to return to Health Studies, renewing relationships with former colleagues, and forming relationships with new ones,” Dr. Ross said. “I look forward to working with faculty, as well as the amazing staff that we have, as we forge ahead with new initiatives to provide an excellent education for our students, and ultimately provide superior health care for our community. I am appreciative of this opportunity.”
