With the symbolic shift of a tassel from one side of their mortarboards to the other, nearly 600 Brandon University students became Brandon University graduates, receiving their degrees at today’s Convocation ceremonies. It was Brandon University’s largest graduating class in six years.

Brandon University (BU) will hand out more than degrees at its annual Spring Convocation on Friday, June 1.
The exceptional accomplishments of several alumni and educators will also be recognized at the ceremonies at the BU Healthy Living Centre (HLC). Three Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented, as well as three awards for current BU faculty, and the Distinguished Teacher Awards.

BRANDON – A Brandon University (BU) Master of Education student has become the second BU winner in three years of a prestigious national award recognizing an outstanding master’s thesis.
Ebenezer Duncan-Williams is the recipient of the Margaret Haughey Award for the best master’s thesis in Educational Administration, presented by the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration.

BRANDON – Brandon University (BU) will mark International Women’s Day by recognizing 15 outstanding female students.
The students were nominated by BU faculty and staff for their accomplishments and contributions academically and in the community.

BRANDON – Brandon University (BU) students will benefit from $330,000 in additional support this year through two valuable new bursaries approved on Tuesday by the BU Senate.
The bursaries were created to realize the benefits of changes to the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursaries Initiative (MSBI).

Four talented Brandon University researchers have shared their insights and inspiration in Q & A profiles on a website affiliated with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
Drs. Bernadette Ardelli, Margaret E. Carrington, Mousumi Majumder and Sarah Plosker are featured on the Prairie NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering website.

BRANDON – Brandon University (BU) alumni wrapped up four days of Homecoming celebrations on the weekend.
The 2017 Homecoming was BU’s largest in several years, with more than 200 people attending Saturdays’ Dinner and Awards at Harvest Hall.

BRANDON – Doris Pratt will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Brandon University (BU) Senate this weekend during BU’s Homecoming celebration.
This year’s expanded Homecoming festivities begin tonight, and Pratt will be recognized at the annual Homecoming Dinner and Awards banquet on Saturday.
