The nutritional value of the fish that we eat will be examined by Brandon University (BU) researcher Dr. Barry Madison with support from the federal Discovery Research Programs.
Dr. Madison has been awarded a $145,000 Discovery Grant, plus a $12,500 Discovery Launch Supplement by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

The work of 10 Brandon University (BU) undergraduate students is being supported by federal funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
The students are recipients of Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRAs), providing them each with $6,000 from NSERC in addition to $1,500 from BU.

“Working with their faculty supervisors, our students are participating in first-class research,” said Dr. Bernadette Ardelli, Dean of Science at BU. “These are exciting projects that will help our students develop.

The first day of Brandon University’s expanded Convocation 2022 celebrated this year’s graduates from the Faculties of Science and Education and the School of Music with two ceremonies today and welcomed back graduates from 2021 and 2020 whose own celebrations had been curtailed by the pandemic.
Reflections on the challenges of the pandemic and what it means for the future were common themes today.

A total of six valedictorians, representing top academic achievement and community commitment from Brandon University’s graduating students, will be lauded at BU’s Spring Convocation 2022 later this month.
Valedictorians have been selected from every faculty and the School of Music, with the Faculty of Education selecting two this year.

Brandon University (BU) is honouring some of its outstanding female students in celebration of International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
The Status of Women’s Review Committee (SWRC) at BU will hold a virtual awards ceremony to recognize 14 students on Tuesday.

A dedicated board member and volunteer who has devoted countless hours of service to Brandon University will receive the prestigious Apex Award from the Brandon University Foundation.
Jeff Cristall, who says his earliest memories of BU were lending a hand as a kid from the sidelines for the then-College Caps football squad in the 1960s, most recently served three consecutive terms on the BU Foundation board, including as President of the BU Foundation from 2015–17.
The BU Foundation is responsible for fundraising on behalf of Brandon University, and of stewarding the resulting endowments and donated funds.
