An institutional grant is one that is applied for by Brandon University and awarded directly to Brandon University, i.e., in the name of the institution or President.\u00a0\u00a0Researchers associated with an institutional grant normally go through an internal selection process and have the approval of the Institution before moving forward with an application.\u00a0 The grants must align with the Brandon University Strategic Research Plan and contribute to its principles, priorities, and themes.\u00a0 Institutional grants include awards such as Canada Research Chairs, Canada Foundation for Innovation infrastructure grants, and the Research Support Fund.<\/p>\n
The Canada Impact+ Research Chairs Program<\/a>\u00a0is a\u00a0<\/span>one-time initiative<\/strong>\u00a0designed to support institutions in attracting world-leading researchers whose work addresses critical national and global challenges. \u00a0The program emphasizes both research excellence and tangible impact. \u00a0Impact+ chairs will receive long-term funding and institutional support to advance ambitious and transformative projects in Canada\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>strategic priority areas<\/a>, build and maintain exceptional research teams, and collaborate with partners across sectors and borders. \u00a0Impact+ chairholders are expected to drive the translation of discoveries into applications, commercialization, and social and economic benefits for Canada and the world, while also developing the next generation of highly qualified personnel.<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>stands at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world\u2019s top five countries for research and development. This is accomplished via the establishment of research professorships in eligible Canadian degree-granting institutions.\u00a0\u00a0Brandon University has\u00a0<\/span>five Tier 2 Canada Research Chair<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>allocations.
