Check-in Procedures

When is Check-in?

This year, the first day of check-in is September 3rd and it goes until Sunday September 6th.

Check-in times are between 9 am and 6 pm.

To limit contact between others during check-in, we ask that each student books their check-in time in advance. You can select your check-in time here.

If you need to arrive early, contact our office directly at residence@brandonu.ca.

Expectations

It is the expectation that residents move in their belongings during their 1 hour slot. For example, a resident who signed up for a check-in time at 9:00 am must have completely moved their belongings into their assigned room by no later than 10:00 am. Time schedules are strictly enforced.

To ensure safety, we ask that no more than 2 members of the same household as the resident help with the move-in process.

Move-in Safe Practices

  • A max of 2 people from the same household are allowed to assist you while moving in.
  • Anyone helping with check-in will need to vacate McMaster Hall once the 1 hour window closes.
  • Maintain social distancing of 2 meters apart at all times.
  • All persons entering McMaster MUST wear a mask.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available to use prior to entering McMaster.

Check-in Steps

At your chosen check-in time, park in Parking Lot 1. (see map)

A member of our Residence Staff Team will be at the back door of McMaster Hall, located just off of Parking Lot 1, to greet you and check you in.
—> If you’ve prepaid your first term residence charges, you’ll immediately receive your check-in package, including your room key and Student ID. You’re ready to move in!
—> If you haven’t paid for your first semester
residence fees and haven’t made prior arrangements with the Residence Office, the resident must make their residence payment online within the hour of their scheduled check-in time slot.

Once you have your check-in package, a member of our Residence Staff Team will guide you to your room. Once there, you will be asked to complete the room check form (that lists the condition of the room), sign for your keys, and sign other important documents that may have been missed before your arrival.
