McKenzie Building<\/li>\n<li>On the west side of the George T. You can also schedule with your family physician for follow-up to ensure your physical well-being.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-row \" data-column-group=\"7\">\n<div class=\"new-column-box  full count-1\">\n<h3>Brandon Regional Health Centre \u2013 Prairie Mountain Health<\/h3>\n<p>Brandon Regional Health Centre \u2013 Prairie Mountain Health provides S.A.N.E. nurses (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners) who are able to provide forensic exams up to 120 hours after a sexual assault to individuals over the age of 18. The BRHC\u00a0also provides choices and options related to medical care (including medications to provide medical care to prevent possible sexually transmitted infections ) or pregnancy. They can be accessed by the individual directly or with the support of the Brandon University SVEP Coordinator. Brandon Police Services also has a Victim Services Department that work closely with law enforcement to provide support and resources during the investigation process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brandon Police Service and Victim Services Non Emergency: 204-729-2345\n<ul>\n<li>or call your local RCMP detachment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/police.brandon.ca\">http:\/\/police.brandon.ca<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/police.brandon.ca\/victim-services\">http:\/\/police.brandon.ca\/victim-services<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><!-- .new-column-box -->\n<\/div><!-- .flex-row -->\n<a name=\"court\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Court<\/h2>\n<p>As cases move through the criminal justice system, Victim Services (Provincial) provides:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>court and criminal justice system information<\/li>\n<li>counselling referrals<\/li>\n<li>information about what to expect if subpoenaed to court (a special notice telling witnesses when and where to appear in court)<\/li>\n<li>court preparation, as required (including a visit to the courtroom to help familiarize witnesses with their surroundings and make them feel more comfortable)<\/li>\n<li>court support, when possible<\/li>\n<li>safety and protection planning<\/li>\n<li>information on possible financial assistance that may be available to victims of crime<\/li>\n<li>information about Victim Impact Statements and guidance on how to prepare them<\/li>\n<li>information on the offender&#8217;s sentence once she or he is convicted, and how to contact the correctional facility if the offender receives a jail sentence<\/li>\n<li>information on how to find out about the offender&#8217;s release from a provincial jail<\/li>\n<li>information on how to register with the National Parole Board, if the offender is sentenced to a federal institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"flex-row \" data-column-group=\"9\">\n<div class=\"new-column-box  full count-1\">\n<h3>Victim Services (Provincial)<\/h3>\n<p>Victim Services helps people understand\u00a0their rights, understand their responsibilities, and connects them to other services or agencies.
