Students will need to present their BU photo ID to make arrangements. There is no requirement to show financial need to borrow a laptop. The loan period for a laptop is 2 weeks.\u00a0 Students can renew the laptop, as long as there is no waiting list.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 role=\"button\" id=\"accordion-1-t2\" class=\"accordion-title js-accordion-controller\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1-c2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-initialstate=\"closed\">\n\t\t\t\t Student Emergency Fund\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\n\t\t<div id=\"accordion-1-c2\" class=\"accordion-content\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\n<p>We understand that unexpected emergencies can occur.\u00a0 Students are able to apply for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/student-services\/files\/2025\/03\/Student-Emergency-Fund-Application-form.pdf\">Student Emergency Fund Application form<\/a>&#8220;&gt;one-time, non-repayable grant during their university studies (see requirements below, and on the application form).\u00a0 Students will be considered for all available funds such as the Tina Sorensen Memorial Bursary, the Joan and Paula Mallea International Student Emergency Fund, or the Supplementary Undergraduate Student Assistance Trust Fund (SUSA).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Funding requests for school related expenses such as tuition, books, or bridge financing (waiting for a student loan, lack of financial planning) will not normally be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Funding for school related expenses will only be considered if the student can demonstrate a clear emergent circumstance outside of their control that has impacted their financial situation.<\/li>\n<li>The Emergency Fund Application committee has the right to request official proof of paid receipts, invoices, or official documentation (e.g. doctor&#8217;s note, pictures) related to the emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Submit the completed application form to the Administrative Assistant of the Dean of Students, Room 105-4, A.
