Student Leaders are trained volunteers who help at campus events, virtual events, and will be playing a big role at our upcoming orientation!<\/p>\n<h3>1) Who can be a Student Leader?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students planning to return to study in the fall of 2026<\/li>\n<li>Willing to attend Student Leader training<\/li>\n<li>By September 2026 students must:\n<ul>\n<li>hold a minimum 2.0 &#8220;C&#8221; grade point average<\/li>\n<li>be registered in at least 6 credit hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students interested in gaining volunteer work experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2) What kind of time commitment does this program require?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete 15 (or more) hours of volunteer time between April 2026 and May 2027<\/li>\n<li>Complete training sessions. Training hours count toward the minimum 15 required for participation in the end of year event and professional development opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3) What are the benefits of being a Student Leader?<\/h3>\n<p>S<em>tudent Leaders who volunteer 15 hours will earn:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attendance at a prestigious end of year event for Student Leaders<\/li>\n<li>Reference letter useful for future employment, academic opportunities and scholarship\/bursary applications;<\/li>\n<li>Access to Professional Development training opportunities and Student Employment Opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to attend professional development conferences within Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Questions?
