Dr. Majumder has established a multidisciplinary program at BU supported by tri-council funding such as NSERC-Discovery grant, Canada Research Chair (CRC) Program, Canada Foundation for Innovation, Canada Summer Job Grant, and Brandon University Research Committee grants. Her team of highly qualified personnel (HQP) includes Honours students, MSc students, Research Assistants, and Bioinformaticians. In addition, her trainees (between 10-12 HQP) are highly successful in publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles, they won several regional and national research awards, and supported by Research Manitoba MSc scholarship, CIHR MSc scholarship, Brandon University Research Training Award (BURTA), an NSERC-USRA. \u00a0Dr. Majumder also teaches a variety of pre-med undergraduate courses (BSc) and MSc courses at BU. She is also serving multiple regional, national, and international funding agencies as a grant reviewer and selection committee member for provincial health agencies and has developed an extensive servicing history at BU by serving as a committee member.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.brandonu.ca\/majumderm\/\">For more information.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a mother, scientist, and professor it is difficult to find balance in life. So, if you identify with any of these points or just want help and tips, I am here for you <a href=\"&#x6d;a&#x69;&#108;t&#x6f;&#58;&#x6d;&#x61;j&#x75;&#109;d&#x65;&#114;&#x6d;&#64;b&#x72;&#97;n&#x64;&#111;&#x6e;&#117;&#46;&#x63;&#97;\">m&#97;&#x6a;&#x75;m&#100;&#101;&#x72;&#x6d;&#64;&#98;&#x72;&#x61;n&#100;&#111;&#x6e;&#x75;&#46;&#99;&#x61;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif\">\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/swrc\/files\/SWRC-Headshot-Candance.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/swrc\/files\/SWRC-Headshot-Candance.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"342\" class=\"wp-image-402 size-full aligncenter\" \/><\/a>\n<div id=\"accordion-2\" class=\"accordion no-js\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 role=\"button\" id=\"accordion-2-t1\" class=\"accordion-title js-accordion-controller\" aria-controls=\"accordion-2-c1\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-initialstate=\"closed\">\n\t\t\t\tCandice Waddell-Henowitch - Faculty of Health Science\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t<div id=\"accordion-2-c1\" class=\"accordion-content\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\n<h5><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>Candice Waddell-Henowitch is Registered Psychiatric Nurse and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing within the Faculty of Health Studies.<\/strong> <\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Dr. Candice Waddell-Henowitch holds a PhD from University of Manitoba in Community Health Science and a Master\u2019s degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Brandon University.\u00a0 Throughout her short tenure at Brandon University she has been involved in numerous interdisciplinary and Faculty based research projects from a variety of funding sources, including the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, and the Public Health Agency of Canada. \u00a0Her research includes improving health care practice and systems through the lens of feminist, anti-racist, anti-homophobic and decolonizing approaches; and understanding the perspectives of individuals living with histories of mental illness and trauma.\u00a0 Prior to her work at Brandon University, Candice was a registered psychiatric nurse in Australia, New Zealand, Manitoba and remote communities in Nunavut. She worked nationally and internationally on projects focused on improving Indigenous mental health and wellness, and reducing the impact of trauma.
