An emphasis on community partnerships has resulted in the sharing of spaces and other resources.<\/p>\n<h2>On Campus Sites<\/h2>\n<h3>Library Building \u2013 Heritage Floor<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-91\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/visual-art\/files\/2011\/02\/library.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"258\" height=\"220\" \/>The Ceramics studios, the Indigenous Art studio, the Art History classroom, and the Printmaking studio are the primary areas on this floor.\u00a0 \u00a0Students who are physically challenged have access to an elevator located inside the library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ceramic Studios:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 6000 square ft. Ceramic studios include two classrooms equipped with worktables and storage shelving units, a mold-making\/slip-casting room, a dry material storage room, a large glaze room, and two kiln rooms.\u00a0 There is a separate large studio shared by thesis students who are majoring in ceramics.<\/p>\n<p>The studio facility includes fifteen Shimpo pottery wheels, one Bailey 30&#8243; Drive Board slab roller,\u00a0\u00a0two extruders, one Shimpo pug mill, one Soldner Professional clay mixer, one sandblaster, six Skutt electric kilns, one portable raku kiln, one Bailey shuttle gas kiln, and a RICOH decal printer.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-112\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/visual-art\/files\/2011\/02\/umphrey-sutherland1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/visual-art\/files\/2011\/02\/umphrey-sutherland1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/visual-art\/files\/2011\/02\/umphrey-sutherland1-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>Jeff Umphrey Centre<\/h3>\n<p>Jeff Humphrey Centre is a two-story brick building located at the southwest corner of campus alongside Victoria Avenue. It is located behind the gym and adjacent to the Kinsmen Park. Entry to the building is normally from the north side facing the parking lot.\u00a0 It currently houses the painting and drawing studios of the IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inabateg Department of Visual Arts.\u00a0 The west half of the building houses a student gallery, the Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art.<\/p>\n<h3>The Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesutherland.ca\/\">The Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art<\/a> is located on the southwest corner of the campus. This gallery serves students, faculty, and visiting artists, as well as BFA thesis exhibitions of graduating students.<\/p>\n<h2>Off Campus Sites<\/h2>\n<h3>Assiniboine College<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/public.assiniboine.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Assiniboine College<\/a> is located at 1430 Victoria Avenue East in Brandon. It is a fifteen-minute drive from the BU campus. Public transportation is available. Brandon University and Assiniboine College have a partnership to offer a major in Digital Media and Design. Students completing the two-year <a href=\"http:\/\/public.assiniboine.net\/Default.aspx?tabID=84&amp;prgID=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Web Design Diploma<\/a> offered at Assiniboine College will be offered two years advance standing in the Visual and Aboriginal Art Studies Department at BU. Students may complete this diploma at the beginning or the end of their program. All web design courses are offered on the campus of Assiniboine College. There are five slots reserved in this program for BU students wishing to complete their BFA degree.
