{"id":1922,"date":"2024-03-05T10:40:02","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T16:40:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/womens-week\/?page_id=1922"},"modified":"2024-03-05T11:06:30","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T17:06:30","slug":"danielle-isfeld","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/womens-week\/archive\/womens-week-2024\/danielle-isfeld\/","title":{"rendered":"Danielle Isfeld"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><strong>Nominated by: Dr. Michael Charette<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Pursuing a double major in Chemistry and Biology<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Will be doing an Honours Thesis with Dr. Charette next year<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>BUSU Work Study Student \u2013 summer research student in 2023<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Student Marker for two Biochemistry courses <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>She has an excellent skill set (otherwise known as \u201cgood hand\u201d) and is very thorough, methodical and analytical <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Danielle\u2019s research project looks at one aspect of Bowen-Conradi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder in the Hutterite Population of the Canadian Prairies <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Danielle\u2019s research is key to increasing our understanding of the disease mechanism of this disorder with the hope to someday be able to provide treatment options. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>She presented her research in October 2023 Child Health Research Days in Winnipeg, the research conference of the Children\u2019s Hospital Research Institute of MB. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>From Brandon, MB. She went to J.R. Reid and Vincent Massey High School<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Hopes to pursue a medical career<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How will you #BreakTheBias?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>To #BreaktheBias I have stepped WAY out of my comfort zone to share a small piece of my story on how I got to where I am today.
