{"id":933,"date":"2014-02-28T16:14:23","date_gmt":"2014-02-28T22:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/womens-week\/?page_id=933"},"modified":"2015-03-04T16:04:53","modified_gmt":"2015-03-04T22:04:53","slug":"anne-lucie-azanfack-fone","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/womens-week\/archive\/womens-week-2014\/anne-lucie-azanfack-fone\/","title":{"rendered":"Anne Lucie Azanfack Fone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandonu.ca\/womens-week\/files\/2014\/03\/AnneLucieAzanfackFone.jpg\"><\/a><b>What education have you taken?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I am currently taking a four year Honours degree in Arts with a major in Economics, at Brandon University.\u00a0 In 2012\u00a0 I graduated with a three-year Bachelor of Economics, with a speciality in Engineering Economics\u00a0 from the University of Yaound\u00e9 II, Cameroon.\u00a0 I earned my high school diploma in 2008 from Biyem-Assi High School.<\/p>\n<p><b>What accomplishments are you proud of?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I am proud to have been among the best students of my university who have received the premium granted by the Head of State of my country,\u00a0Cameroon, during three years in University of Yaounde II.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tell me about yourself\/ your background\/ your history.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I was born in March 1991 in Yaounde (the capital of Cameroon). \u00a0I grew up there and at age 17, I graduated from high school. \u00a0I went to university in another town, Soa, where I ended with a three-year Bachelor\u2019s degree in economics. Then I came to Canada, first to Calgary, where I studied English for four months. \u00a0Finally I arrived here in Brandon on December 2012 to complete my degree in Economics.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">How did you become interested in your field of study?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">My motivation to study economics was to first understand how the market, banks, and government work. \u00a0Also I wanted to understand why unemployment in my country and other countries is so high.\u00a0 And finally I wanted to do an international study &#8211; Economics is one such area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">What is your philosophy in life?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I think our future depends on our belief, that is to say, on our faith. There is a proverb that says whoever wants to travel far, must spare his horse.\u00a0 \u00a0However, I believe that man proposes but god offers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Where do you see yourself in the future?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I see myself in the future either in Canada or in the United States or in Cameroon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Nominator\u2019s Comments<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Anne Lucie is an excellent and an A student in our department.
