Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP)
Description
The Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP). PIP is a 10-month paid work-study programme on Parliament Hill for young Canadians or permanent residents who have completed at least one university degree.
Interns have the unique opportunity to work directly with both an opposition and a government MP and to write a timely, original research paper as participant-observers on Parliament Hill. They also participate in study tours with other legislatures in Canada and abroad, and meet with prominent Canadian politicians, journalists, activists, and others involved in Canadian political life. Our alumni, who include two current MPs and a Senator, go on to outstanding careers in the public service, business, academia, and the not-for-profit sector.
Our application for next year's internship is currently open: https://pip-psp.org/apply/. The deadline for applications is January 31st, 2024.
We will be hosting information webinars for applicants at noon (EST) on January 8th (in English) and 9th (in French) to present the Programme and answer questions. Registration information is available on our website.
